This Basic Training – Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities (BT-PSSR) forms part of the Basic Training course required under Regulation VI/1 in relation to Section A-VI/1 of the STCW Convention, 1978 as amended.
This component addresses the mandatory competences and the corresponding knowledge, understanding and proficiency set out in Table A VI/1-4, Section A-VI/1, STCW Code of the said Convention. It provides seafarers with the essential understanding and skills necessary to develop safe working practices, maintained good human relationship onboard, and comply with safe working procedures and environmental protection measures.
This BT-PSSR component has a total duration of twenty-four (24) hours, consisting of theoretical instruction and practical demonstrations, and covers the topics listed in Part B - Course Outline
